doing one block over 2 columns?

At one time I think I saw this as a mod, I want to put 1 column or block with 2 columns under it.  Anybody else done this?

Dolphin 6 or Dolphin 7?

It's never been an actual mod that I know of, but it can be done.

It's dolphin 6.  I haven't been able to find such a mod doing a google search, but then I don't know what words to search for.
