email from Dolphin has (unkown sender)?

All emails from the site come to me with this in the body, and (unkown sender) as the From field of the email:

MIME-Version: 1.0
From: =?UTF-8?B?Qm9vdCBDYW1wIERhdGluZw==?= <notify@bootcampdating.com>

Dear Steve-o,

We are glad to inform ....

This is coming to my gmail account. Does anybody know what the cause for this is, and how to fix it?

this seems to be a problem quite a lot of people have - it looks like that there is a general problem with the handling of html-mails.

i would LOVE to switch to plaintext mails - but even after a couple of days research, i found nobody who was able (or willing) how to switch from html- to plaintext mail.

or is there a solution to come for the html-mail problem?

regards

olibert

Any ideas on why the From is Blank??

PS. This information isn't included in the mail header. Most of these emails will end up in the Junk Mail folder or blocked by spam filters at the server level. This is a HUGE problem. Does anyone have any idea on how to modify the email send code to include the proper email header information?

I have the same issue.  I just want plain old text emails.  If anyone has a solution please post.

v6.1.4 sends plain text with the email address I setup as from address 'out of the box'  .....

Have you made any modifications?

I don't have the time to find the article here on this forum, but I always had a problem with my email until I went in and changed the various files that send an email.

All I remember at this point is that you need to look through all site files (like with dreamweaver) and look for the following combination:

\r\n

This should be changed to:

\n

I'm not sure why this is except that certain email methods do not like the \r.

If I remember there are only about 3 files that need to be modified in this manner.

If you have been having problems with TellaFriend emails then edit the tellafriend.php file and replace as mentioned above.

Test it and see if it makes a difference.
