embedding on forum...

Hi, I have a video site www.cagefilm.com (videos in clips section) and want to be able to embed the vids from it onto my forum.

Now, I can embed them fine onto articles, blogs etc...

Anywhere but the forum!

I just get an error message when I try to embed on forum.

This is REALY frustrating as its one of the key things I want my site to be able to do!

(that and up the video upload quality...)

Anyone help with this? Ive tried all searching forums, market, and everywhere but not getting far with this one...

Thanks!

Tim

ps - yes Ive tried embeding using html in the forum post. Will work from youtube but not from cagefilm.

You'll need to have somebody modify the Orca forum code to be able to embed flash from sites other than YouTube.

Posts in blogs, groups, events, etc are processed differently.  After a great deal of complaining on my part, admin posts are now unfiltered, so you can post embed code in these areas, however, regular members still cannot.

Orca forums is a different story.  Boonex hasn't made it very easy to allow embedding of flash from different sites.  If forums will be an important part of your site, I'd highly recommend Deano's IPB integration module.  It isn't released yet, but it works well.   This route will cost you a few bucks, but you be paying those same bucks to someone to modify the Orca forum code for you anyway.   With IPB, it's a simple matter of adding custom BB Code to embed your custom videos.  Another luxury of an IPB integration, is all the free IPB addons that you'll also be able to use, including a pretty good arcade mod.   I can confirm that the arcade mod works well with Deano's IPB mod.... so will all the other ipb mods.

My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees.

Thanks, will look into that one. Ive bought from Deano already and am pleased with his mods.

One thing i dont want though is a forum that is 'targeted' by spammers and hackers. Ive run a VB forum before and its just a nightmare keeping on top of things...!

Will check it out thanks.
