Unlikely a bug. More likely an incomplete upgrade.

What version of dolphin are you running?

Seems to me that you have an older version of the avatar module running on a newer version of dolphin, or dolphin was upgraded and the avatar module failed to upgrade or not all of the files were overwritten or the photos module was upgraded but the avatar module was not. Or, or, or, or.

In any case, errors indicating missing functions or methods means something was not fully updated, improperly updated, newer files from upgrade not over writing older ones and other things along those lines.

Check dolphin version, check module versions. Make sure module versions match what is supposed to be installed based on your version of dolphin.
