excessive resource consumption

I'm having problems with my web with excessive consumption of resources this is what I say from my hosting.

Http: 138 Mysql: 1        Postfix: 1      Dinascanner: 5  Mailman: 0      inetd: 1

17:22:43 up 2 days,  9:52,  1 user,  load average: 48.88, 45.86, 49.98
USER     TTY      FROM              LOGIN@   IDLE   JCPU   PCPU WHAT
root     pts/1    192.168.0.143    17:21    4.00s  0.00s  0.00s -bash

total       used       free     shared    buffers     cached
Mem:       1048796     935560     113236          0       2352     125608
-/+ buffers/cache:     807600     241196
Swap:       786424     402952     383472

There are currently 138 web service processes and 227 concurrent TCP connections to the server.

But never so many people are connected, can be not to close connections and to consume resources?

They also say: There seems to be a consumer-related database, but rather due to the PHP web site

The speed for the page is very bad with this situation

Is it normal to consume so many resources with 1700 users?

Are you on a dedicated server that's optimised using the recommendations here: http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/wiki/HostingServerSetupRecommendations

These recommendations are for dedicated or VPS server owners, however if you are on shared hosting and notice that your server configuration is inefficient, you can ask your hosting support to change these settings on the server, so the whole server would run faster.

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
