fake members keep joining

Hello again, anyone know how to stop fake members from joining my site I keep getting fake members joining on a daily bases. I am using D7.0.8

I was having a similar issue, site not live and tons of bot enrollments.  Used the "Join by Country" mod, free, and have only had one in the two weeks since then.

will it work with D7.0.8 and where can I get it?

If you search the forum for "spam" you'll see everyone has this same problem. Here one with lots of ideas:

Block China, Alland Island

this will remove nearly all spam.

When setting the mod up, you have to click the countries you want to allow.

To select multiple, hold 'control' as you click on different countries to select then save.

I blocked the above and do not get any spam since on any of my sites.

Unless you are aiming your site at China, you may as well block it! 

You know I always thought they picked "Aland Islands" because it's the first one on the list.. but I just realized "Afghanistan" was actually above it. So wonder why they pick Aland Islands?
