favicon.ico not displaying

I am not really overly concerned by this at the moment, but is anyone else having problems displaying a custom favicon on the most recent D7 beta install? I had a similar problem on a previous beta version, but it sort of magically appeared later on without me being aware of what I had done to make it appear. I have cleaned out the cache via admin btw. It could have been that I deleted the cache physically that made the difference. When I do a grep -r favicon * from root I get no reference to any text in the cache directory for the favicon. hmmmm. Oh well.
