Good day all,
I am writing to invoke some good responses regarding mobile devices that does not support flash application, as we all know that most devices that use to support this kind of file does not anymore and are moving towards "html & html5" so my question is, is there any plan to develop any kind hotfix/update that can be use to resolve this problem? you see I have recently purchased two modules from the boonex market "dolphin game & mobile chat" which i think are two great modules but they are not supported by mobile devices because they are built in flash now i am stuck between a rock and a hard place and everyone knows that chat is a very integral part of a social network, i would say approximately 90% of people uses mobile devices today, if any developers out there reading this post please come up with a solution to this problem.
Thank you.

I asked the same question 5 days ago and got no response. Are the chats for Boonex all Flash based? |
Apple decided to shit on their users by not offering flash. HTML5 maybe in ten years will be able to offer what we can do with Flash today. Geeks, making the world a better place |
The real reason Apple doesn't support flash on Ipad/iPhone, is because it would give their users a way to have access to a lot of apps without going through their precious iTunes store. No usb ports either, because that would also open the door for loading apps on the devices without going through their iPhone store. You don't really own your iPhone or iPad.... Apple owns it My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
The reason no company except Adobe wants Flash: It's a massive security hole.
Steve didn't want Flash on the iPhone because of that and it was/is a resource hog.
You can do anything Flash can with HTML5 for a long time.
Flash is dead!
Boonex should stop using it immediately.

Tell that to the millions of people that play flash games all over the internet countless millions of times.

You would have to tell the devs of those games.
Users eat what they are fed.

Will the Boonex platform be affected by the HTML5 push by chrome on Sept 1? I'm not referring to the plugins. I'm trying to decide if I should purchase this platform but can't get a clear answer on if this platform will have problems on 9/1. Maybe I should just wait.

The one about the power saving feature? The article you linked to suggests to me that it'll only affect laptops and tablets, and also only unimportant instances, like an ad. As the Flash apps appear in the center of the page, and it's the only Flash content on the page, it should be unaffected. You can download a preview build of Chrome/Chromium and test to be sure. This sounds like the same setup that Safari has done for a while, where it requires click-to-play on some Flash content to save power on MacBooks.

I don't need to, because they know that complex flash games will not be possible with html5 any time soon.

We just ask our clients to make sure they have a browser that supports flash. An apple anything can download Puffin which will support flash on their iPad, iPhone etc. One can get around the flash issue with Apple. You can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit.. although it does work the other way around! |
