I'm have the same pro0blem and mine is set to 777. I still haven't figured it out. It started after I allowed HFW to restore a backup.

If you delete the cache and cache public folder, it will go away for a few days but will return. I am sure it has something to do with who owns the permissions on your folders.

I have to say though. In my case, it didn't cause my site to fail.

AHA!

I think I found it.

Check the permissions assigned to the specific database you are using. Looks like a few of the permissions on mine have been disabled.

Here's the one I am having trouble with:

(The ones in red are unchecked)

ALTER CREATE
CREATE ROUTINE CREATE TEMPORARY TABLES
CREATE VIEW DELETE
DROP EXECUTE
INDEX INSERT
LOCK TABLES REFERENCES
SELECT UPDATE

And here is one that's working fine:

ALTER CREATE
CREATE ROUTINE CREATE TEMPORARY TABLES
CREATE VIEW DELETE
DROP EXECUTE
INDEX INSERT
LOCK TABLES REFERENCES
SELECT UPDATE

Me thinks this is my issue. Thanks HFW...

No, I don't believe so. I still think it's a permissions problem, even for you. Maybe the deeper permissions on the server itself as to whom owns the specific folders. That's where I would start if I were you...

Ok, same problem I had after I got HFW to restore a backup copy of my site. I do not have the proper permissions to make changes to the permissions in my database.

Now I have a real problem. The last time I asked them to fix something like this, they fudged around in my server for a week screwing things up until I had to get jay to fix it for me.....

JAY! WHERE ARE YOU?!

ok not sure, but, seems that there is an ownership problem on that database.

so here is what you can do.

download the sql

then on the account on cpanel create a new databsae naming it whatever feels good. when you create the database and the user, grant all permissions there.

then go to phpmyadmin and import this sql file. you should be the owner and have all perms that are required.

Yup. Jay jumped in and took care of it. We're testing now. so far, so good. This is the same maddening ship I went through with HFW with my directories when they did the restore for me.

All you gotta do is tell me I have enough space on your server for the thousands of pics and hundreds of videos my member upload. We've had this discussion before. My sites require many many gigs of space Mr Terabyte.
