is there anyway i can insert a video (or boonex video player) on the first page ?

Either way would work.

i just need it to be on the front page in the Boonex player, so it is consistent with the other content in terms of look and feel.

Just make an html or php block and use the embed code from youtube.  Nice and easy

i have already done that, but it does not show it in the BOONEX video player. it only shows the youtube palyer.

If I recall correctly, YouTube has updated their position on custom players for displaying their content, and does not allow this. That said, it will require some modification to get what you want, more-so than what can be done in a forum topic (and to my knowledge).
