how do i change profile registration fields

id like to remove the birthdate requirements. The actual field is just not user friendly.

I'd also like to change the requirements on USER names...some folks are reporting issues with trying to put in 5 characters. 

any assistance?

also..id like to make the sub-links of the Main Tabs to be permanant. Folks are complaining that one slightest mouse move..they lose the sublinks. 

can all be done in your admin panel via the page builder and then the profile builder I think *i'm not any my usual computer* you will probably need to click on the advance tab for username, the birthday field can just be dragged down to the inactive panel.
