how to remove files from menu

On the navigation menu bar, all the way to the right next to the Search button (magnifying glass), there's an icon where with a green plus sign. When you click it, a menu drops down containing all of the menu items from the main navigation menu.

In that drop down navigation menu, there's a link for "Files". How can I remove that link from that navigation drop down menu?

You can add/remove/edit menu items from Administration > Builders > Navigation Menu. You can drag menu items to the inactive area on the page to disable them.

I understand that. But I cannot find the items that are within that vertical drop down. When I'm looking in Administration > Builders > Navigation Menu, I don't see where that vertical drop down is listed. What should I be looking for? In other words, in that admin section, how would I differentiate a vertical menu item from a normal horizontal menu item?

You don't. They are all horizontal menu items. Items appear in the more drop down automatically when it run's out of room or it has reached the max number of items to display based on the setting you have for number of horizontal items.

For example, if you drag the member menu item about 10 items to the right you will find it will appear in that menu as well, and the item that was the first one listed in that menu will be the last item on the horizontal.

So when in the builders just keep scrolling right. You will find it. Or just count how many items are currently on the menu and then add what position files appear in the drop down and that will be the position it appears in the builders.

Put simply, that drop down menu is just a place dolphin sticks the extra top menu items that don't fit. You will find settings also that control how many are displayed before they start appearing in the more drop down.

Play with it a bit. You will understand once you start moving the top menu items around and see what kind of effect they have.
