htaccess files moved to httpd.conf

Per apache we should not use htaccess files when we have access to httpd.conf

Should we adhere to that with Dolphin 7 installations? Apache says it will reduce load and improve security.

Can anyone shed some light on this? Also if you have converted all the htaccess settings to httpd.conf please share with me since htaccess parameters can vary when moving them to httpd.conf

Thank

I have never tried it. Perhaps someone else has, but the .htaccess file is really not that large so i don't know how much of a difference it will make.

Allot of people don't have access to the configuration file, so that tip serves little to them.

This would help everyone not on shared hosting.. I'm sure someone out there has done it and can help everyone if they posted the requirements for httpd.conf

the way it works is the config has to load for every page hit.. versus loading once when apache start
