i want to disable chat

I thought I had a simple thing to do...disable chat...just go to navigation builder menu, click on chat, drag it to inactive.

But it doesn't go away.

Next, I tried changing the page it goes to, and changing the language string to one of the other pages we have created....

Does not work...it is still available to members, and still goes to chat.

Next, I found a file in inc/db_cached/ called MenuContent.inc, and when I change the destination file here, chat DOES go to where I want it to go, and when I change the language string, it DOES show the text I want.

I thought, silly me, that I should do this correctly, so I created a language string for the new feature we have, and used that key in MenuContent.inc.

The result?

The entire menu entries get screwed up...and it defaults to a default-installation menu entries.

So, obviously, I am doing it in a very incorrect way....

So HOW do we get rid of ray chat from menus and from users?

It should be just dragging it off of Navigation Menu Builder, but no, not that way....

How do we do it?

You had it right the first time. All that should be needed is to just drag chat off the menu in the menu builders.

I just did it on my site, and had no problems. Worked as expected.

I do know that dolphin pukes quite often. If your using IE, try using firefox or viceversa.
