If the game & its content were modifiable, I would throw money for the quality product I know he'll produce.
Unfortunately, a vampire theme has no home on my site.

truth be told, im not hot about the vampire idea myself, i for 1 think if we was gonna go "oogy boogy" we should go zombies beings the whole 2012 and cases of people getting high on bath salts and eating each other.
this is a simple case of take what you can get, everyone is doig social gaming,, we have nothing to offer. we have a damn good programmer willing to produce for us, we just need to cough up the cash. if we dont do it now i dont see it happening at all to be honest,, not until some 3 party company we have no control over or with comes up with something integrable with our current format

The first game is intended to be the kicker which should generate enough cash to help me fund others without the need for fund raising.
A zombie theme sounds good to me also. Seems to be all the rage on Play Station and X-Box. And the vampire game could be used for that, but with zombies instead.
I just need to start with something i know well to speed up production time.
Unfortunatly farmville, sim sity, ect are flash based games. I am not a flash developer, so i have to stick with HTML based games such as Vampire wars, Mafia Wars, Mobsters, ect.
Once cash is rolling in on these games, it should allow enough income for me to take the needed time to learn flash to do things like farmville.
Perhaps even more advanced games using 3D graphic engines. https://www.deanbassett.com |
I can see it now, bathsaltsville...

Turn based HTML games are still quite popular and addicting, especially if you keep the learning curve light.
I think it's a good place to start. I also think if you made the platform theme agnostic, you'd bring in quite a bit of interest ($$$) from the community. Let me choose the title, define character types/avatars, items, values etc of the game I put on my site. Mafia wars has spawned many games of the same framework & only changing the shell.
Give us the ability to change the shell & you'll make some good cash!

Alright. Then i will look into creating a dolphin game engine instead with a game editor to create custom games. Likely will increase development time. But if people prefer to be able to do that, then i will.

people getting high on bath salts and eating each other. It was determined the guy was not on bath salts, just plain crazy!
What about the used to be game "Blood Crimes?" Can that be revived and used?

Don't do it only on account of my thoughts though.. sometimes I find I am the odd man out in the room. Make sure the engine is what the majority wants too :) Skype: shawn.nelson |
If a game engine is the way forward then this will leave site owners to either use stock sprites and backgrounds from the product (if there are any) or to import their own sprites, backgrounds and animations.... I can already see a great deal of messy games appearing on sites.
I have seen some awfull games produced on exellent game engines. Just my two cents, but who wants to produce and then implement their own graphics within a game? It's like giving site owners too much rope lol.

so who is all in?, im confused MY SITES http://viptopia.net general social networking | http://www.rangerschat.com/ niche site |
i think a stock game vs game engine is the way to go, so that we have some uniformity plus less need to tech support as when you leave it open for editing then your bound to have a lot of issues |
I never was a big fan of those massive games..or computer games in general. When I was a kid, we didn't have xboxes and MLB 2012. We had to go buy a real bat, a real ball, and a real glove, and go play in a field where we used flat rocks for base pads.
Nevertheless, the games attract a massive audience. I have a flash game on my site called 'Sling Wars' . It's just a flash game, but I think the basic concept could be extended to include a large number of players, that form tribes, elect leaders, etc. In the flash game, you play against various characters, and the object of the game is to kill your opponent with objects you find laying around.... these include sticks & stones, wasps nests, and various other things. Your opponent, of course, fights back. Once you defeat an opponent, you move on to a different geographical area, and try to defeat that opponent, and so forth. You win the game when you have defeated all opponents and taken ownership of their land.
There's probably a mmorpg game like this already, but I know so little about these things, I couldn't say. I would be far more interested in a 'Conquer the world' type game, set in medieval times, than something to do with vampires or zombies. The characters would be more real, and they had all kinds of cool weapons in those days. Trebuchets, catapaults, spears, knives, etc http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_medieval_weapons There's a ton of different characters you could use.
Anyway... I vote for a Medieval warfare game.

i had previously reported to a few developers whom i considered capable of implementing something i came across, and that is zynga is opening up their games to developers for redistribution. i mentioned to all that i could, though i dont think anybody bit on it.

I have a day off on saturday for good behaviour so I am going to start writing and messing around with a simple flash game to see if i can connect it to my sites database and pull informartion such as player credits, avatar into the game.
If i can then a multiplayer online that uses credits to buy objects or access worlds may be a possibility. It can also have a chat / comms window. I will have to play and see what is possible. I will not be able to build a back (admin) end though as my knowledge of this is zero.... but I will need one.
If the flash can be done and made to work I will post results here - and will then look for someone to help create the back end.

I'm surprised BoonEx hasn't chipped in a few bucks towards this. The addition of social games to Dolphin could become a great selling point. BoonEx Certified Host: Zarconia.net - Fully Supported Shared and Dedicated for Dolphin |
I think that we will see (I hope that soon) the first social game for dolphin
