install eAccelerator

I am following the directions in "Hosting Server Setup Recommendations for Optimal Dolphin 7 Performance", and I'm on the subject of installing eAccelerator, I tried but I could do it.

I have to thank the people of boonex by these tips, Unfortunately not all are experts in this, can someone recommend me any tutorial please?

We are going to need to know about your current server setup to help.

Key points are what OS you are using, and what version of Apache and PHP you are using.

Also, is this a 'dedicated' / 'VPS' server or a 'shared' account?

Thank you nandonet ;-) I was able to download the whole changeset :-) (still not possible to download just the single file I needed like it was possible until some days ago)

I just finished the install of eAccelerator, server updates across the board, install of the 14313 changeset and mysql performance tweeks.

I have to say my site is indeed quite a bit faster. I don't think 500% faster, but still a huge improvement.

Any idea what the script is doing with eAccelerator?

I use APC as that is what is planed for inclusion  with PHP 6, I'm wondering if I should switch...
