invite a friend issue

Apparently, anyone that lands on the home page can click on the invite a friend link at the bottom of the screen, send invitation to him/herself and register with that invitation.

This sort of defeats the purpose of having the registration by invitation only, since anyone can send themselves an invitation to register. Is this a bug in the app ..?

Any thoughts or suggestions?

thanks in advance.

invite message in the email only shows the website url, the sending members ID is not in the link.

i tried to send an invite without logging in and it let me do it. and i was able to join as well.

I would think that "invite a friend" link should appear only after the member has logged in, to prevent from public to send invitations to themselves.

Try to do these:

1. Enable option - "registration by invitation only" in admin -> settings -> advanced settings

2. Send invitation by not logged member

3. Follow to invite link and try register there.

What result?

When you know or to advise a valid member ID, you can join every invite only dolphinsite.

Put the following link (http://dolphinsite/?idFriend=45) into your browser and then click the join button.

The user on my site, with the member ID 45 had never send an invitation but I can now join the network.
