join process

Is their a way to customize the join process section?  The information to match members is extremely vague.  Their is no way anyone can find what they are seeking.  I made my own match making sysytem but how do I add it to the site and make sure everything matches up?

And make sure that the 3 pages are sync and the Description of the fields are properly. You have Join, View, Edit.
