I have never seen any other software house provide fixes this way. nomally they would provided files with the fixes applied just for users to override the files in the installations. as changelog fixes like this is haerd for newbies to know what to do. and the chrioem fix does not work as it will stop other functions to break
They will provide file with the fixes applied. It will be called Dolphin 7.1.1 There will also be a patch that upgrades 7.1.0 to 7.1.1 Both of these will have all the fixes applied.
Applying all the individual fixes from the code repository is not intended for 'newbies'. Sometimes it's more involved than just replacing files. Sometimes there are database modifications also.
FYI: A few days ago I reopened the ticket for the Chrome issue, because I don't think the supplied fix is adequate.

The real issue is the fact that the geniuses at google decided to add their own cute little popup date picker to every input field with a type attribute set to "date", thus breaking jquery date pickers all over the internet. I'm sure this will get fixed properly, but's not a simple fix. There's a lot of complaints about the same issue all over the internet, so maybe the purveyors of Chrome will undo their own damage, once they realize they've broken millions of jquery date pickers..... then again. maybe they won't.
