Hi
i am a bit confused, i am trying to make an admin membership level. I have set standard membership with restrictive functions such as can't send other members mails. But that means I myself can't send mails to members unless I pay the premium membership level, but its my site so obviously i don't want to be restricted. I tried to make an admin level in membership levels but that just gave all members the option to use it, so I am a bit confused as to how to make a staff admin account that has access to all the functions but random members can't access it.

any ideas because I am baffled. How can I only be a standard member on my own site? |
when you create a new membership level called Admin do not make it purchasable. caredesign.net |
so how do I make a free for 1 month membership level that disappears and can't be re-clicked after 1 month? i seem to be only able to make a pay - renewable or no pay but is renewable. That kinda defeats the object of free for 1 month because everyone will just keep clicking the freebie level. |
Or how do I make the Promotion membership say Free for 7 days |
and how do I make the Promotion thing be a different color, I don't want it red and it seems to be a element style and i can't find a way to change it. the usual css doesn't work

Voni, I don't think there are many people here today - or any other day.
I've never used membership permissions, but I always thought that admin and standard were one and the same. Admin is given additional powers when needed, otherwise it uses the Standard permissions. If you need to change something, you should create a new membership type. I'll know more in a few days when I start using the permissions.
Regarding the colour, I did explain how to do this in a tutorial some time ago. You'll find it in this thread. It's the last PDF file.

Just in case I never mentioned it in the tutorial, you must turn off the caches for this to work. Clearing the cache's isn't good enough. You turn them off in the Cache settings. I suggest you untick them all, but particularly the CSS ones. Then clear the cache and reload your browser page because it also has a cache.

To clarify tis - keep in mind - there are only 3 membership levels by default - and the Standard is the highest memebrship level - thus admin is stuck with that user level.

if you login to your admin panel and go to database tools under tools category, backup/downlaod or 'save to your PC' the profile db table and edit value in the 5th column `Role` tinyint(4) unsigned NOT NULL DEFAULT '1', change value from 1 to 3 for the account you want make admin, then reupload the profiles db table with 'Database Restore From Your PC' in database tools.
