making a link to a new page, getting path administration/name of file

I made a new page in page builder and when I linked to it the path resulting said administration/name of file instead of path/name of file  (and an error file not found) when I call the page up in the site.  I've created pages before and linked and am wondering what I'm doing that's different that I'm doing wrong in page builder?  Thanks.

Pages created through the page builder are accessible through http://www.example.com/page/[URI], where [URI] is the URI you entered when creating the page. If you are adding the page to the navigation menu, you'd enter it as page/[URI].

If you're encountering 404 errors, I'd check to make sure the .htaccess file is in the root directory of your installation.
