Hi everyone
I have a question:

I would limit the size of the videos sent by a group member.

by expl: grade - Prenium can upload videos over 100 MB

first grade can submit videos of max 50MB

and grade staff may not exceed 50MB

----

thank you for your help

Actually, this reminds me of something I've been thinking of for awhile: how would I go about controlling the amount of multimedia (photos, sounds, videos) that can be uploaded by certain membership levels? I've also been wondering about this, as well.

Hi,

I'm new to Dolphin as of today, so I won't be able to answer all of your questions, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

iweb,

I'm not sure you can do what you're asking without extra php files and configuration settings. I say this based on another post I read about inserting a specific member group into a block on the home page.

Magnussoft,

Your question is easier to answer. Go to Administration, Settings, Membership Levels.

At the bottom of the page, click on whichever member group you are wanting to change.

The page will refresh and at the bottom you will see a list of actions.

Click on the one you are wanting to change, for example, Videos Add.

A pop-up will display and you can set how many uploads are allowed and when the number will reset itself.

Hope this helps,

Damion

Edit: checking that. Edit: yeah, you get a gold medal from myself. God, why the hell have I never noticed that before?

No, seriously: why the hell have I never seen that before? I've been using Dolphin 7 since the early development releases, and I have never noticed that before. I must have edited membership levels hundreds of times already, and I have never noticed that.

LOL, no worries. It's probably because I'm new and I'm checking on everything to see how it works and everything.

In 6 months, I'll probably forget myself and have to ask and you can help me out.. Tongue out

You've broken my ego. Give me my medal back, I'm giving it to a random guy buying a Big Mac. They are the real heroes. (In all seriousness, thank you, and never mention it again).

Its ok Magunssoft - I was here two years before I learned that members could log in with their email addresses, but goodness - that is a big one, in fact that is the feature that caused me to select Dolphin in the first place.  Are you really just learning this now- or are you pulling our leg?

I may have been drinking, so I will leave it at that.

You would have to create them on your own. It is something outside the scope of what Dolphin currently offers.

I would try google-ing for support on this one as the amount of changes needed are VERY extensive.

In a nutshell, you would have to create additional fields in the database, edit existing Dolphin files, and create new files to make it all work.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
