Is there a way to not have the members auto-activated when signing up?

A confirmation letter is sent, but in the same time the account is already activated.

Admin->Settings->Moderation Settings

Uncheck the option Automatic profile activation after joining:

administration --> settings --> moderation settings --> postmoderation settings

Three tick boxes


automatic profile activation after joining (untick)

do not change profile status after editing profile information (you can leave ticked or untick, not relevance on this situation)

automatic profile confirmation without confirmation email (untick)


what does this do? options 1 and 3 are what makes this work in conjunction. though we are truly limited with moderation functionality, automatic profile activation (disabled) coupled with automatic profile confirmation without confirmation email (disabled), sets the order of precedence, that the member must confirm the email address, then the administrator must activate the account.

I have done this but even if I get a mail about it my account is up and running and I have access to all pages.

Is there more settings I need to do?

would like to test this please, because that has not been my experience. if you have those two settings in moderation controls then, there is nothing else.
