notifications on mobile app

I'm wondering if a module has been created that notifies the mobile app if new content was added on the desktop version.  Say a new video or new member or photos were added.  Will the appropriate icon or the messages icon say new information has been posted.  

I have seen push notifications, I'm wondering if that will work.

Any word on this? I would like to add push notifications to users phone when they have a new notification in the mobile app.

Don't know of one but Dolphin will send a notification email for a lot of different things, like someone posting to the wall or adding a photo or making a comment...

Also, what you are asking requires that a person keep the app open and most won't because it burns up data and most have a limited amount.
