page language translation test

I am not sure if anyone has tried this feature from google on there site... Google Page Translate

I have a test server running at http://jacksonville.dyndns.tv/ with this added to a block. Try it out, seems to convert entire site to the language you choose, all of the site..

I have a need for this as Jacksonville Florida is a very diverse city. I am testing first before adding this to my main site..

Any feedback is greatly appreciated and rewarded!

The only issue with Google Translate is that (wait for it) it doesn't work. It is still considered as beta-ware, and most (if not all) of the languages it can translate are still given an output of incoherent gibbering, and that's besides the case when you translate my blog.

If you want to translate your web site, do it properly, and do not rely on an automated service that can't even correctly provide an output for some of the most simplest sentences in some of the most common languages.

how many languages can one add? I would need several!

By using the language system within Dolphin, you can add, remove, and even manage languages within the script. You can either translate the script yourself using it's advanced (somewhat) language system, or purchase languages from the Unity Market. You can add as many as you like, and your members will even be able to choose which ones they want to use.

Also, change the settings for that reloading image of a video feed. Having it refresh every second will kill your bandwidth and annoy your visitors.

this is my home ip bandwidth... my test server here at home not the actual site.... bandwidth is no problem for me

it may effect slow end user yes, but I have served these cams for 5 years with no problems...I only added the Ubuntu server to test some things like this and other ideas before I implement to my commercial site..

the languages, I could not do the translate myself, lol! Looks I will be buying some of them...

Aware of that, but it's still an important warning if you plan to roll it out to your actual web site.

thanks mag, the "real" site does have one of these images on it that stream right now.

I will be changing to an still image with auto refresh set to a minute or so when I get further into the bandwidth issue. the cam is how I am getting the uniques, it really helps with search rankings
