page not found error

I just installed dolphin 6.1.6 and get pages not found on

blogs, photo video music groups/all, ads, events, articles. all thoughs links do not work.

Now I look at the directory structure and none of thoughs directories are there. Are they suppose to be there

if so they are not in the zip file I looked.

This usually happens when the .htaccess file is not uploaded to your sites root directory.  Make sure it was uploaded.

or you did upload it and then altered somehow.. you must upload the original .htaccess from dolphin..

Most home servers do not have apache setup properly. htaccess over rides are not enabled by default on Linux installs.

What version of Linux are you using?

i recommend you to use xampp it's the most easy to setup and you have no problems at all..

Hello there bigd44, by chance did you search the forum for this solution, as this has been brought up literally thousands of times. it is directly related to the .htaccess file, and the mod_rewrite engine on apache. replace the .htaccess on the sites directory structure, check your servers config to ensure that mod_rewrite engine is on.

hey bigd44, solved your problem?

In my case, since my website is not at the root I had change the .htacces and put a slash "/" in front of all php files.

I have multiple domain name on the same account so I put them in subfolder. Since .htacces start at the root of my ftp, it tries to find /sites/sitename/blogs.php.

instead of blogs.php I have put /blogs.php and everything started to work fine.

By putting a slash, it tells .htacces to start at that point so the good url for the domain.

Hope that could help some people.

Cheers.
