permissions for installing Dol 6.1.6

hi all

i moved to a new Shared Hosting ,

i installed Dol7 all went ok ,

then i need to install dol 6.1.6 on the same server , but when i go to install folder "  www.mysite.com/install/index "

i get this error message

A file permissions error has occurred. Please check the permissions on the script and the directory it is in and try again.

tried and changed all the file and folder persmissions, but still got the same issue ,

i donot think it is something to do with the hosting , because as i said first i installed Dol7 and didnot have this issue

please advice

You need to be a bit more accurate with your link.

If your actually using http://www.yoursite.com/install/index

Than that does not exist. It's more like http://www.yoursite.com/install/index.php or http://www.yoursite.com/install/ or better yet just http://www.yoursite.com/ which will jump to the install folder for you when it notices dolphin is not installed.

Unknown. I have never seen it before.

My suggestion would be to clean out the folder where you uploaded and unpacked D6. Making sure you delete all the directories that unpacking the archive created and try uploading it again. My only guess is something was corrupted during upload.

A search around the Internet shows that this has to do with the associated permissions for files/directories. Try setting all files and directories to 755, and then restart the installation process.
