php processes error is plaguing my network

As someone new to this, the process of getting a network hosted and working out bugs as your network starts taking on users is anything but easy.. I have my network hosted on Arvixe and for the most part, everything was going fine, till I announced that the network was ready for new users. I got a flood of new users in, and all of a sudden my account with Arvixe gets suspended. Now it is happening every day!

The first couple of times they were unclear as to what was going on and if there is anything I can do. Yesterday I found that I have unlimited storage and unlimited bandwidth on my plan.. as long as my network stays under 25 very active users ... :/ I have a few thousand.

So the plan I was on had to be upgraded to a dedicated server.. $$$/month x_x  So I got on that plan and it's going to take a few days for that to happen... However my network was just suspended again! This time the rep at Arvixe was a bit more helpful and told me exactly where to find the errors that were happening..

For some reason PHP Processes are overloading my network. Now that I know what it is, I wonder if a dedicated plan was even nessescary, but now I still don't know what to do about it... here's what I'm getting in my error log, hundreds of times: (IP changed to "IP", and links changed to generic links)

[Sat Jan 23 22:39:37 2010] [error] [client IP] File does not exist: /home/usr/public_html/site/flash/XML.php, referer: http://site.com

[Sat Jan 23 22:39:37 2010] [error] [client IP] File does not exist: /home/usr/public_html/site/modules/index.php, referer: http://site.com/member-profile

Anyone have any idea why this is happening and is there anything on my end I can do to prevent this? Currently the error was duplicated 300times and stopped (suspending my account) before it crashed their server. I don't know how to prevent this from happening again tho!

They renamed the folders so that the errors would stop for now, which also stopped my entire media area, for Photos, Videos, Boards and Sounds... The stuff my members like to click on!

I have a real problem with any host entering my file folders and renaming things.. That's tantamount to breaking and entering!!!

They informed me that it was something they could do and waited till I agreed in order for them to un-suspend my network, so saying no would have left me with a suspended account till they did the entire transfer, which they said takes 48hrs. So I won't be able to turn the feature back on till Monday night. They said to do something about the files, but I don't see much I can do if their shared servers can't support the hits.

Though I do not know why the errors of a file not existing is popping up, if BoonEx support can chime in, that would be super helpful..

As mentioned in this post, the user discussed this issue over the phone and will be moved to a dedicated server where the community can further grow. 25+ users constantly using the multimedia features of the PersonalClass plan ($4 per month) does fall outside of the usage limitations of such a plan.

As far as the not found errors. The file was renamed and the user notified. Our choices as a shared hosting provider are one of the following to make sure the server can continue to function properly for other users -

1) Suspend the account where the user will not have access to their emails, FTP, etc.

2) Rename the file causing issues (such as the XML.php file being used by the Chat on the website). In this case, the site continues to function and the user has access to emails, FTP, etc. The user can, at their discretion, rename the file back if they feel they've resolved whatever it may be that is causing the spike in usage.

Every user we have ever worked with considers the second option a better one. Any changes made to any account are clearly communicated to the customer the moment it happens.

#2 Is the better option, but I wish it was more clear exactly what would happen.. It seemed that it was only the chat that would be affected when the issues were communicated to me via phone and in the chat, then I realized that it would be more then just those after I started navigating around the site.

I still don't know why some of the files are coming up as not exsisting though.. did I do something wrong on the install?

Also, in the ads for your service, you should note that it's intended for small start up networks. I'm moving my network from an already exsisting network with a few thousand users, who will all be moving over once they see things are ok with the new site.. Even with the PersonalClass Pro option, which I had, wasn't enough..
