popen disabled in functions.inc

When i try to upload a video i get the following error

Warning: popen() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/blahblahblah/public_html/blahblahblah.com/flash/modules/video/inc/functions.inc.php

is this by default and how can i change it ?

If this is a shared environment, you will need to contact your host to have it enabled. Your video uploads will not work without it.

What exactly do i ask them to enable ? just say enable popen ?

Pretty much.. Just tell them you need POPEN enabled in the php configuration. Oh yeah... and good luck.

LOL.. Sometimes they say no.. but who knows ... you might get lucky.
