profile database woes

Things if anyone can help with would be greatly appreciated,

I have migrated half of my profile database form old site using the module in admin and it seems to be stalled. Another issue, some time ago I lost all my profile pics so I have used a back-up to restore the pics to:  /media/images/profile/....I just need to know how to merge the pics with the profiles and how to get the migrate file in admin unstalled.

Merry Christmas....right around the corner

sorry to hear you are having problems with your migration. what module are you referring to? the Dolphin 6.1.6 migration module?

not clear on the direction to give here, as there is not enough history on what you are doing:

1. version you are migrating

2. location and path of 7.0.8 (presuming you are upgrading from 6.1.6 ---> 7.0.8)

3. max_execution time setting on current install

this sounds like you are possibly timing out on the migration if you are using the dolphin 6.1.6 migration tool and are in fact upgrading from 6.1.6 --> ^

there is no easy answer on how to do this transition manually, and that was the reason behind releasing the upgrade (migration) module.

from dolphin 6.1.6, which is where the site would have to be upgraded to manually, using the various upgrade patches, then you could at that juncture, use the migration module or that is what is inferred. i have never done that specific method, and have always taken the long road, upgrade 6.1.6 ---> 7.0.0, then apply the upgrade patches one by one.

I had a problem posting. Yikes dude, Ok, I didn't know this was a mod meant for migration from 6.1.6. I am migrating from 7.0.4 to the latest version. It did manage to migrate 19,000 profiles. I have all the files on one cpanel : my current site is in /public_html/www/ and the old site is at /public_html/www/oldsite the mod is still hung up. I put my old profile picsd at /media/images/profile/ so I hope that is right because I did some reading before on profile pics. I'm about to post this on jobs because it's beyond me. Any takers??
