purchased license and site will not register

I purchased License and site will not register to make ads go away, I have Dolphin 7 and I have been to settings/advanced settings/Variables/dolphin License Code:  and inserted my code, but nothing happens!!

Any ideals, there is no help in the instructions for this.....

Quote · 31 Jan 2010

what is your domain name that you bought the license under?

I had the same thing happen. I'd try re installing dolphin.. is this a new domain name? Several options on why it may not be working..

Quote · 31 Jan 2010

go back in to variables and remove the license code and save.

Log out.

Now log back in from the back door, not the front door.

Go to http://www.yourdomain.com/administration/

Log in. It should prompt for your code. Enter it there.

THANK YOU!!! that worked.

I purchase a license then registered by entering the lic number in admin panel but the website still shows  the boonex info on the footer (

how I can remove this footer?  any suggestion?  I re-register de license code but still remain de footer.
thank you.
Quote · 6 Feb 2010

Try removing and re-entering it again.

I just had the same thing happen to me and it took a couple of tries.

I don't know if it had anything to do with it, but I unregistered my site license via the Unity license panel - just before entering it the last time in my own admin area. I also cleared the database cache. - Then it worked.

You may want to try that.

Quote · 6 Feb 2010

Thank you for your reply.

I tried that but didn't work, i've reading forums and blogs about this issue, but now I'm comfused if is the settings I have applied on the script or is in the hosting company, because some say that if allow_url_fopen is "off" is not ON it will not register or have communication with boonex license servers. others say that I'm not registering the license correct in admin panel which is not true.

Now, if allow_url_fopen is "off".  is the problem, on which script is located so I can get there and switch it on. or how I can create one to tell the server to allow that.

I just dont want to spent a lot more time on this because I already purchase the license 90 days, I like the program and I want to tell people about it.

Thank you.

You have to perform the steps exactly as deano stated above, there is also more clear directions on the d7 forums main page stuck there as a sticky by zarcon

Quote · 9 Feb 2010

Thank you Jasond

I did exactly how Deano say, actually did it 3 times. got in admin panel went to variables and deleted the license code, saved the changes and logout from the admin panel., cleared cache and cookies of the browser. went to the  mydomain/administration and log back in then a register popup window come up there is went I put my lincese code click register and it goes just fine no errors. then I go to the website and the boonex footers and iphone ads still there on the websites.

after that I go to the admin panel to variables and the code shows there no errors. the boonex footer still there. also I got a reply from my boonex rep offering me to contact some of the people here to get help with a inexpensive charge. I dont think is fair.

Quote · 9 Feb 2010

No thats not fair, If you have done all that then i would say they should offer another key to see if that works. However Barring that this is open software and the have to feed the kids somehow. I would do it as long as the fee was very minimal.  You already paid for the key and if it doesnt work the new one should be free, if there is a problem with the site that you created in installation or changing stuff then paying the fee is justified. I did have a case of my key not working before I think they just needed to activate it....... and then I also had this problem where i had to put in the key as you have now.

OK I did install software 5 times already, installed language traslations and some pictures, is ready to go live.. 5th time installation I get everything working just fine.

OK, I get it, my hosting company 1an1.com  does not talk to the boonex license servers. how that happend?   is because the allow_url_fopen thing is off? or the license key code is wrong or not working?  ...... finally what you guys think I'm doing wrong.   almost quitting this program. also I been reading that this is a scam program. I dont thinkso, it is not perfect yet is all.

You must have allow_url_fopen enabled on your server, which will allow the script to phone home and register with the license. If this is not enabled, you must enable it. If you are on a web hosting package, and your web hosting company does not allow this option to be enabled, your only other option is to switch web hosting companies, or switch to a virtual private or dedicated server.

Concerning those "scam posts," ignore them, as most of them are not even about BoonEx itself and only third-party individuals.

Solution i found was blocked IP connection - this is what I have posted elsewhere:

Finally able to remove boonex footers by allowing Boonex IP.  I was having the same problem as many others whereby I was following all of the suggestions given with no success and footers remaining even with registered licence.  I did not even need to clear the cache.  I have put is as a separate topic so it does not get lost in the forum.

The problem was that even though allow_url_fopen was on the PHP settings of the host, there was a restriction on outgoing connections.  I had to specify the Boonex IP 216.246.29.22, was allowed outgoing connections. Worked immediately.

It may be different for each host so you may need to contact them directly if you can´t find where to change it but this is what my host said:

... allow you to specify a certain IP address to which you want to connect from your web hosting account. The tool works following a pre-defined pattern - it automatically adds the first 10 outgoing connections from the specified IP address to the "allowed" list and blocks all further outgoing connections, unless they have been previously included in the list.

The purpose of this tool is to prevent any possible malicious attacks to the server - in a lot of cases, a hacker would plant a small script, which will attempt to connect back with his website or server, stealing all the important information you have in your account and sending it to his. Thanks to this tool, this will be no longer possible.

In order to open an outgoing connection to a specific IP please go to the mentioned section and add the IP address and its mask to the list of allowed IPs by typing the IP address in the 'IP/mask:' field of the form. Also, if you want to open an outgoing connection to an SMTP server at port 25 you need to tick off the 'Allow port 25: (SMTP)' checkbox. Optionally, you can add an informative description of the service that you're about to connect to through this IP.

Ok.

I confirmed with my hosting company 1and1 and the option for allow_url_fopen is set to "ON".  now that is not the problem. but now what could be the issue.

alternativeincome, is posting something new that I did not know about.  is someone else familiar with the outgoing connection from the website to a specific ip address?.

is something that I need to do from my hosting plan Cpanel?.

website working but advertising and boonex footer still there.

just for the record, sent a message to my rep 4 days ago and I havent received any help or answer.

that anyone had setup boonex using MICROSOFT SQL instead of mysql on a IIS 7.0.

any advise will be welcome.

Thankyou.

go and check the settings youself.  thank you link removed.

OK, boonex footers  still on my site,  allow_url_fopen is set to "on".,  I asked my hosting company about outgoing connection to a specific ip address but they had not respoded yet after 24hrs. I have a paid license for 90 days, already spent 10 days figuring out why the registration is not working the way it should . I have no answer from my boonex REP mike.

then I dont see suggestions here,  I was thinking if is possible to force and remove the footer links manually,  but I dont think you guys will help me on this but I'm not sure what to do.

Seeing as how your web hosting provider hasn't yet replied back to you, I'd wait a little longer. While it is possible to null the script, this requires decrypting the Base64-encrypted code and removing some entries, which is simply put, not allowed. If you have not done so yet:

Login to the admin panel and remove the license key from Admin Panel. Click save and then logout.

Access your license from you Account page. Reset the domain.

Log back into your admin panel by accessing directly (ex. www.mysite.com/administration )

Enter your 90 day license key and click submit.

Check the footers after that.

Hi Chris

I did the steps you provided but it did not work., something to point here is that you said go to mylicenses page in boonex and hit reset. but this is a new license wich is not tie to any domain yet. so there is not reset option on boonex licenses page.

thank you.

Hi TmClec,

I can understand your frustration as it was driving me crazy as to what the problem was but it sounds like your problem is very likely same as mine was which means the problem is with your hosting  - why don´t you tell us which host you have and see if someone else uses the same and can tell you how to change the IP connections permissions.

For the future, you might want to consider changing hosting companies - mine answered within 15 mins.  And if your agent is not answering you - change them aswell!

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT GOOD.You are giving a way to everybody to remove the boonex footers without a license. You should immediately delete that post. It's against all the ethic of this community. We should help Boonex to grow, not to fall.Yes, maybe the costs are too high at the moment, but if you post such informations, the costs will never be lower!
