reinstalling

Ok I have ran into a little problem that I hope someone has had, or has a fix for.

Ok I am running dolphin on wamp based on a home server, I figured I did not have enough space so I bought a new computer with a way bigger hard drive... Now here is the issue, I have tried to copy wamp over to new one, never worked, I installed wamp and tried to copy the www file over, no go. I installed wamp installed dolphin and then tried to replace the dolphin files no go.. As I just starterd the site I only have 9 members and could just rebuild from start but was hoping there was a way to do it where as they would not have to sign up again... Anyone have any idea's... thanks in advance for your time and thought...

You can install WAMP on the new computer and then copy over Dolphin's files as a ZIP, etc., along with its database. You should move the files to their proper place and import the database through phpMyAdmin. You'll also need to edit the /inc/header.inc.php file and make the necessary changes, along with clearing your cache directories.

I only recommend this kind of setup for development purposes, or local testing. If you're intending to run a production site on a home computer, you're making a big mistake.

Thank you Magnussoft for your fast reply, It worked the way you siad. I forgot to change the IP in my router to match so was not going through. Opps... Yes this is more for testing at this stage, My old site was all PaperIrc with WI, As we all know that is very old, outdated, and mildly unstable. I really like Dolphin so far but all the people I had on my old site miss the old style chat and the ability to run there own scripts "Mirc" for for games, macro's ect. So I'm trying to find a way to use something like unrealircd or the the like as my chat server, Not sure if its possible yet tho, I have not been able to find any documentation on the subject as of yet, I believe the hardest part would be to find a way for the chat server to link to the dolphin db for members and profiles ect... If you or anyone has thoughts on that I would love to hear them, thanks in advance for anyones time and thought..
