safe mode problem: anybody else with the same?

Hi all,

I installed Dolphin 7.0 RC3 on a dedicated server with full control and I run into the following problem:

The install worked like a charme and I got no trouble there. But running the package and trying to install

modules I got an error: "shell_exec is disabled etc. etc." 

To get rid of this I turned safe mode on on my server. But when one does this, the whole package doesn't

start and an error message appears even before start-up: "Turn safe mode off, goto Boonex Troobleshooters".

Since I am not a professor in Linux and just a freshman in PHP I have little trouble to solve this problem.

Is there anybody who can help me with this?

Dolphin vereist dat safe mode dient uit te staan anders werkt het niet.
En die shell_exec staat nu uit op je server. Deze moet dus op ON staan

Kijk eens in je servers php.ini file  via je controle paneel

A little off topic question.. Why did you install RC3 when the Final is out?

Hi, try to check the open_basedir, as to be disable ...  and kepp the safe mode OFF... This is what DosDawg tell me to check (ok on my case i must to ask at the hosting to do this, so i don't know if solv the problem or not...)

heb safe_mode off laten staan in de php.ini en in de "disable_services"-regel "shell_exec" weggehaald. Alles werkt nu naar behoren.

The question about why having RC3 installed instead of the "final" RC5: read my topic about Language Change Problems with RC5 furtheron in this Dolphin 7 forum.

If anyone can help me with this: GREAT. I will install RC5 in a NYC minute again. But sofar, only RC3 works without errors.

RC5 is not the final.

well, apparently each and every bug I used to encounter is now solved by the 7.0.1 release.

So far I am happy.
