sometimes cant log out properly

Has anyone had a problem logging out of a profile? I log out of one profile (apparently successfully) and log into another. Then I find I log out and I am still logged in to the first one! This does not happen all the time. But it has happened a few times. And I think I even cleared the cache and found I was still logged in and could make profile changes. I am puzzled as to how two profiles could be logged in at the same time using the same browser. I think this has happened to me in IE8 and Firefox2. Thanks Dan V

usually after you log out from site or just close your browser you will stay online for some times.

You can set this period in admin area >> Settings >> Advanced settings

Time period in minutes within which a member is considered to be online

by default it is 5 minutes - but you can edit it

Really Arthur thats interesting.

I had seen that setting and thought it was just to do with how long you would show as online in Ray Presense and such.

Or else how long you are considered logged in if you make no action and call no pages.

But surely it isnt supposed to keep you logged in when you click 'logout' ?

I have never until recently found that after I logged out I could still access the EditProfile page !

Nor that I could be logged in as two separate members.

It would be a big security hole if it took 15 min to properly log you out.

Well I guess I can set it to 1 min and see if that makes any difference.
