thanks to deano92964 for this great module

thanks deano92964 for this great module. I just installed his module and it works like a charm,

very useful, at least for me, especially for admin settings. I think this should be a standard

module for 7.1.

you can find it here. http://www.boonex.com/unity/extensions/entry/Deanos_Tools_Dolphin_7_0_Version

I couldn't post a review there so I thought it was good to let you know here.

Thanks. Your link is broken though. Fixed version below. Unless i am blind, i can't really see why your link don't work. The url looks right. Weird.

The market sucks though. I can't tell how many people have downloaded it.

It will not become standard. I use very little javascript. So no fancy on the fly loaders ajax and what not. Like toggling through the list of members does not work the same as it does in dolphin, thus it will not meet their standards.

strange, the link works from here, but I believe you. I had people trying to register an account on my site and only got error messages. Leaves a lot to be desired.

Nevertheless, still a lot of progress.

Hi deano, great mod!!! Thank you very much, but let me explane what had happen to my site after install:

appearance of my site has changed a bit, this has already happened to me the other day after install a language. Top menu has focused and is now some smaller, and the page content, the menu below the top is aligned to the left, is there any possibility to fix this without going back to restore the entire page on the server, how I do last time?

you can see it in www.musicosprofesionales.com Thanks!

Quote · 16 Jan 2010

You said it happened once before when you installed a language. Most mods including mine install additional language keys.

So this seems somehow connected to your languages.

However, i don't really see how a language change can cause that with the menu, so i do not have a easy fix solution for you.

Ok, i did see a problem with your site.

have you installed any other mods. I am refering to ones that modify the source files.

Because your table for topmenu is supposed to have a element style generated by code to set it to 998px. It's missing.

You can try setting this is css instead. In templates/base/css/top_menu.css look for

table.topMenu {
margin:0 auto;
position:relative;
width:998px;
z-index:1;
}

Add the width as shown above to the table.topMenu section.

But as i said, this is suppose to be generated by code to match your page width as determined in the page builders. For some reason, your code is not doing it. So thats why i asked if you have put in any mods that require changes to your origional dolphin code.

Well, thats a first on this one.

Ok, need a lot more information.

Is your site running more than one language?

Was the default en language removed?

Are you running D7 Final. This module has not been tested on any of the RC releases.

See if you recieved a emailed copy of that database error.

And please take support for this module up in the forums on my website. I do not want to clog up unitys forums with support issues for one of my mods.

FOR OTHER USERS: This PROBLEM I THINK IS ONLY IN MY SITE, MAEBY FOR A BAD INSTALLING OR SOMETHING SIMILAR. MOD WORKS PREFECT AND IS SO GOOD!!

Yes, this work perfect for top menu. Let me ask you one more question:

When you see a profile or video... Down top menu is the user or file Tittle and one more menu, this has been expanded and occupies the entire width of the page, which css should modify? Thank you

Same file. top_menu.css Look for this somwhere around line 380 or so.

.subMenuOvr .subMenuInfoKeeper {
color:#333333;
font-size:18px;
height:71px;
margin:0 auto;
padding:0;
text-transform:capitalize;
width:998px;
}

Add the margin and width as marked above.

But really, this is a code issue, and some other solution should be found. There may be other little glitches all over the site.

Downloading this mod and unzip OK, but not full understand the installation step 1

Step 1: Upload the Modules folder to the root of your dolphin site via FTP.

The mod file folder include \modules\deano\deano_tools\... So which level should I FTP from, \modules\deano\deano_tools\..

or \deano\deano_tools\... or just \deano_tools\...

My site root as \public_html\Dolphin\..., should I FTP to \public_html\.. or \public_html\Dolphin\...

There is already a folder \public_html\Dolphin\modules\.. and all the D7 modules are located at

\public_html\Dolphin\modules\boonex\ and I tried put \deano_tools\..  to ...\boonex\

From admin -> tool -> modules, I saw beano_tools as uninstall  module, checked and install got this error info

Could not install from "/deano/deano_toos/ failed and deano_tools gone from uninstall modules listing.

Need help, thanks.

Only what you need to do is from the zip file.
Unzip it to a location on your PC.
From there upload the supmap Deano to your dolphin installation in map: modules/Boonex/
Then go to your Dolhin administration  - Tools  click there on Modules.
Search for non installed modules, you will there Deano_tools and click on install.

Hope tis will help you

Hi, Killerhaai:

Thanks.

I tried that exact same as you said. It said install "/deano/deano_tools/" failed.

I deleted /deano/ from ../boonex/ and reloaded, but then it will not show up under Not install Modules.

I checked installed modules listing, Modules and didn't see anything about deano_tools and I couldn't

uninstall or reinstall. What should I do now, any suggestion?

By the way, any file properties need to be changed.

Quote · 17 Jan 2010

You don't need anything change.
So you can't uninstall the module if I read correct...

I think Deano himself need to come in for this one. Because I have no idea why this give a error on your system.

By the way, any file properties need to be changed.

The instructions say to upload the modules folder it to the root of your dolphin site. That is exactly what it means. The root of your site.

So if the root of your site is public_html/dolphin, then that is where you upload it to.

Maybe i can explain what the layout of the modules folder is

The modules folder is such.

modules\vendorname\vendor modules.

Each vendor sets modules up in their own folder in the modules folder.

If you try to upload my deanos tools module into the boonex folder it will not work.

So do what the instruction say to do. After it's uploaded the modules folder on your server will contain a boonex folder and a deanos folder.

hmmm but that is what I have done it into the modules section not boonex and it was working without any problem.
With all the modules I have from you :)

So I have
/modules
/modules/Boonex
/modules/Deano
/modules/Deano/Deano_Tool

But others here seem to be confused on where to upload the modules folder. For some reason people are picking apart the modules folder and uploading things to incorrect locations.
