upgrade failed

I followed all the instructions but it gives message "upgrade can not be applied".

Please solve this error.

It is possible you are at one of the beta versions.  We need to determine what version you are currently using.

You can look in the admin; Tools, Host Tools, and scroll down to Site setup and see what is listed there for the version.

Also, you can run a query to see what the version is in the database:

SELECT `VALUE` FROM `sys_options` WHERE `Name`='sys_tmp_version'

choiceman, please do what GG asked and report back. Also check the header.inc.php file to make sure the correct version is set. If you're not sure how to check, I can take a closer look for you.

If you are unsure about doing the checks we asked; then please let us know as we will provide direct assistant.  Nathan has already offered his help in this matter.

OK, let's try sending a message to the guy telling him to visit this thread.

He does have an advanced membership, not starter, so should be able to get messages, however, i have run into some members that did not know how to do that either. Or did not notice the numbered marker at the top right of the screen indicates number of unread messages. So who knows. That may not work either.

OK thanks for update. I was not receiving notifications for updates on my thread. This time I received and will follow what GG and others have guided me.

Current is 7.1.4

you need to update from 7.1.4 to 7.1.5 and then 7.1.6.

that's how you do it! Get the proper download file and always backup your current files and DB before you make any changes.
