votes - how do I remove it?

I disabled votes under the admin panel advanced settings - but the stars are still on all the profiles and photos.. how do I stop this voting?

Did you clear your browser cache and force refresh? (CTRL=F5)

Issue is with the small stars under the thumbnails.. they wont go away

been in the 6.1 forum  .....
