why are forums like this. ????

hi i dont know anyone else but i am having problem with how forums url are created after a new post. when i make a post names "mypost" it shows its url as http://www.mysite.com/forum/topic/mypost.htm and this is how it should work. but for some weird reason sometimes when i view the same post it shows the url as http://www.mysite.com/forum/#topic/mypost.htm. please note that # sign in the url. could some one please explain why is it like this ?? and how can i change it ?? the problem is when i try to add a link on facebook.... facebook doesnot grab the infomation of the link if i post it with # sign in it. so i have to delete # sign every time i want to share a post on facebook. regards mchauhan

The forums on this site have the same problem.  It becomes obvious every time someone posts a link to a market page.

My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees.

It seems to depend on where you click the link. On some pages, it includes the numerical symbol, on other pages, it doesn't. I personally consider this to be a bug, or some kind of an annoying issue with the way the script works.

It is a bug, and one that has been reported (and fixed) before.

I see from your sig you get a lot of pm's for help too eh.

I may end up putting something like that in my sig eventually.

I get requests for help for everything, not just my mods.

Have you seen my missing colexp.png?

It doesn't appear to be fixed, since there are still two types of URL's being generated depending on how you go to the topic.

Always use "Permalink" link to share urls in the forums. This is always permanent link to the current page !

does it mean there is no solution for it.??

we manually have to delete # symbol from within the url to share stuff on other sites ??

He is saying don't use the url with the # in it.

Click the permalink link that is in each forum post to get the url to use for posting elsewhere.
