I've seen this happen a lot as well.  I've searched the forums, came up with old information, references to Closed tickets that are as of yet unresolved.  I admit I may be missing something in the forums, if there IS an existing fix to this, could someone post a Link to the fix?  The search gave me a wild goose hunt that ended...no where.

The issue with some videos not working properly is usually due to the following:

a) the address was not entered properly

b) the video has been restricted to some countries

c) embedding of the video has been disabled

Take that into consideration.

I've seen other reports on this issue, and it always seems to happen when there's an underscore or hyphen in the video ID.  At first, I thought it was an issue with preg replace in the uploader, but that looked OK.  I've never been able to duplicate the problem.  A few people have tried different browsers when this problem was encountered and had some success.  You'll probably need to get a Boonex Dev to have a look at your site, since the problem is not easily duplicated.

I get this issue on and off and I just don't get it.  A member uploaded her original video to youtube and then she copied and pasted the yourtube url correctly on my website but for some reason she gets this message saying "_bx_videos_emb_err".  She gave me her url, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qBomF9G5aU and I don't see anything wrong with it.   I tested it myself and I got the same message "_bx_videos_emb_err".  I thought maybe her url link was broken so I typed in the youtube url and I can see her youtube video there just fine. Then I tested on phpBB3 forum with youtube embed there and it works like a charm. I'm really puzzled and I just don't get why some work and some don't.  The software is not reading the youtube url correctly all the time. It randomly picks youtube videos and gives this error. It happens about 1 out of every 5 or 10 videos.  Boonex, can you look into this more?

Can you test this url link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qBomF9G5aUl and see if you are experiencing the same issue. Thanks.  It's very frustrating for my members to receive error messages on some video posts for no apparent reason.

Not true, I have uploaded videos to my own youtube channel, to find this same error coming back.  Verified the Youtube codes, still didn't work.  Manually inserted it into the database, and the video now works fine.

Though I do agree that these factors CAN cause this, I have yet to have one of my user's complaints about this, have been caused by this.

bump.... Did you test the link I was struggling with.  :-/

WEEIIRRDD!!  I tested it again today with the same youtube link "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qBomF9G5aU" and now it's working.  Is it something to do with the way YouTube allows video links? Maybe it wasn't authorized on their side.  I dont understand why I could use the same youtube link on phpbb3 yesterday perfectly fine.  My head hurts.  I still don't get it.

Edit: This wasn't the first time.  It happened to my members 3 times so far. I had to tell them to wait til the next day.  :-/  annoying
