Before I want to release Chat+ to my community, I was wondering if some of these options are doable:
1> I want to create about 5 Channels to start with and not allow anyone else to create their own channel, or maybe per request basis - Basically, similar to Forums concept in which Admin creates categories and the users can select which category they want to use. I have about 15,000 members, once I turn Chat+ loose, I know it will turn to Jurassic park in no time. Some folks will create Channels for their Dogs, Cats, Cars, you name it.. but I'd like to set some limitations in hopes things don't go south.. Same thing should apply for {private groups} too..
2> How about some house cleanup.. is there a way, I can schedule data purge lets say every 2 months delete history beyond 7 days ? The alternative is to write a purge script & run it manually on MongoDB level..
3> It would be nice to set a limit as to how many files (image, videos, audio etc..) can be uploaded per user per day..
One of my goals is to offer my community some cool tools they can enjoy, but I am not Twitter.com, at the same time I have to think about the ongoing maintenance. The more automation, the less work for me to do, and not to mention this will alleviate the workload on the server as well..
4> Lastly, can Chat+ use webcam video streaming similar to Skype ? I was able to record an audio & uploaded it successfully, but I couldn't see if I can talk to someone via webcam..
