Embed Videos Does Not do Anything in 7.0.7

I cant get any youtube videos to embed using the embed option in the videos uploader in 7.0.7.

I click my video album, click add videos and select embed upload mode.

I then get the embed code from the share section on youtube such as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IytNBm8WA1c I enter this into the box that says Youtube Video Link, I then hit the Continue button and the little icon comes up that spins round and round this icon spins round and round and round forever and nothing else happens the page dont even change just a silly icon going round and round and round.

I tried this with 20 diferent youtube links but the same with every one of them I have even left one trying all day from 10AM to 9PM.

Its almost like it is not fetching the video from the link and this is not any problem with my hosting because I tried it by making a .HTML with the youtube embed code in it (old code and new code) this loaded perfectly, I have also ran SMF with youtube video embed features more than once on the same server with no problems.

Please where can I get a fix for this or is there a file or somthing I need to chmod in a perticular way to get the silly uploader to fech the video from the link.

It's starting to piss me off now

@nay27uk @ggsinc These issues seem to be unique to you.  I upgraded to 7.0.7 and have no problems with YouTube embed.  Have tested this in IE7 and Firefox, doing exactly what you did: entering the /watch url (I usually just copy and paste the url in the address bar - but the new, shorter share url also works), hitting enter or clicking with the mouse (which you must do to get the continue button to activate).  Dial spins for 3-5 seconds and the YouYube info appears.  Added 15 videos this way.

There are three possibilities I can think of for your problem, but there may be others.  1-bad flash apps install.  2-server flash issue.  3-incompatable flash version on your computer.  It is regrettable you are having this problem but it is not the fault of Dolphin nor does it require a mod.  Best of luck.

Someday, Someway.

It's been an issue for each install I've had (7.0.5,.6,.7) and is finally a non-issue with a mod that I bought (which I actually bought to integrate several video sites into the embed service, another feature that really should be default in Dolphin in my never-to-be-humble opinion). Since I'm smart enough to know when I need to hire people to do things that are over my head, I've actually had well respected Dolphin experts handle my installs & upgrades - I doubt seriously that they messed anything up. Especially since it's a recurring complaint in the forums, not just 2 posts. (And the RMS and flash features otherwise work just fine. And it happens on multiple site user's computers. AND it's a non-issue with the new mod that we have, we can embed any version of the youtube embed link and it's fine, which I assume wouldn't be the case if it was something wrong w/ the flash or servers) I'm glad it works for you!

I have to agree with GSINC

I own the server I run hosting firm so have root access to the servers both of them, It is not a server isue.

This is a problem with the flash moduels not my servers I have another install of dolphin running with a working RMS and this has the same problem everything works perfectly apart from EMBED.

If you do a search on this site use the search in the main site at http://www.boonex.com and use the search term video Embed you will see countless complaints about this, not pertuculary my exact problem but problems non the less with video embeding.

I have a Permenant licence and was going to purchase a premium one but with all the problems with dolphin I dont think I will bother not only does video embed not work but dolphin is suposed to be 100% open sorce and easy to modify to tie in to your site (What a joke) they dont even supply the original default.FLA skin files in the flash folder so as one can re skin the flash moduels, 100% open source meens you get everything needed to alter stuff this meens including the original DEFAULT.FLA skin files for the flash apps.

Anyway back on subject I just need a fix for this Video Embed problem

Ok I have found out how to get this to work.

First off the system queeries the youtube RSS servers for the video for example if I wanted to embed this video in dolphin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IytNBm8WA1c it sends a queery to the youtube RSS server at http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/videos?q=IytNBm8WA1c this then lists the video in the RSS so beer in mind that a video needs to be listed in the RSS feed for this to work (most are not listed so it wont work)

secondly unlike the uploader tells you to enter the full URL to a video as in the example (Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AANZvYn5uk ) you dont enter the full URL in the Youtube Video link section you just need to put in the actual video for example you would enter _AANZvYn5uk and press the continue button.

so in my above example I know it is listed in the youtube RSS so now I would go to add videos in dolphin and select the EMBED uploader.

in the Youtube Video link section I past in IytNBm8WA1c

I then click the Continue Button

video is now feched
