Hacked Again

I left the admin panel logged over night. I know dumb. This morning I notice two new members, one from Russia I think, and both members were already approved. When I clicked on the Russian member I was prompted to log in. I cannot log in using the same username and password from yesterday. How can I fix this? Should I shut the  down until I get this resolved?

Thanks

I also recommend you change all web hosting and server-related passwords (cPanel, FTP/SFTP, SSH, etc.).

Was this caused by leaving admin sign in, or how can I prevent this in the future? Thanks for your reply.

If you were using a public computer, most likely, it was. You should scan your computer for any malware, as well as change your passwords as said above.

It wasn't a public computer, that is what really bothers me. Plus the two new users.

hate that you had this happen to your site, though i cannot see where this is a 'hack' or a compromised site. if the access was not via the script, and at this point there is no evidence to support such an intrusion, this is more of a end-user error, and posting that you were hacked, does leave a negative connotation for the dolphin application. though there is no real explanation for what has taken place, i cant see this as being something that would justify inferring that you were 'hacked' in the negative sense of the word. all of my computers go to sleep and require a password to reactivate the access to windows, so you are most likely needing to revisit how you secure you own local network as well.

Your computer may be affected with spyware. Check for that.

You are correct, I in no way want to infer any kind of negative connotation towards any of dolphin's applications. My lack of security inexperience or understanding has nothing to do with dolphin, and I was not implying that it was dolphin's script that was the problem.  I was just trying to reach out  and get help and deano came to the rescue. This guy was great. I asked him how much will you charge me to get things fix and he didn't respond, he just wanted to help me out. When all was said and done I told him I needed to pay him for his help and he said, well if you like you can make a donation at my site.

very well, but you must understand that a topic on the dolphin forum 'hacked again' from an outsider looking in, this would indicate that usage of the dolphin script would lead to multiple instances of being hacked.

because there was nothing in your verbiage that stated dolphin was at fault, the mere presence of such a topic on dolphin brings the negativity. not that it was your intent, but a more descriptive topic and a better explanation would certainly help thwart any

presumptions or assumptions when a passerby would come across this as a topic?
