Hi Anyone can help me to find out how someone can post mails in name of the administrator without using the mass mailer and there are only a few mails that are sent out to the other members of the site without authorization of the administrator.

Non of the topics apears in any template .

No topic or content found in database that are like the mails.

Can anyone help me .

Can you post a sample of one of the emails? I have a feeling you're talking about either the "greetings" emails or the match emails.

I think this IS a new issue. The problem other people have had are blank emails being sent by the site because one of their email templates is blank in the database.. but if this persons site is sending email full of spam (like the one above) he has bigger problems.

This spam email was sent from your site?? Does it show it was sent from the Dolphin admin account??

yes it says it comes from the admin mail i changed it and it changed to so it comes from in dolphin.

it's spam and it's getting worse yesterday only 2 now like 15

You need to look at the header of one of the emails and verify that they are actually coming from your server and it isn't just someone spoofing the "from" address.

If they are actually coming from the mass mailer you can just disable the cron job in Cpanel and that will stop it while you investigate how they are doing it.

Are all your members getting them or just some of them?

Oh, to clarify what I'm talking about with the spoofing.. for a while people were writing "bots" to join phpbb sites just so they could get the admin address from the confirmation email. Once they got that address they would start sending email to the admin FROM their own address! The reason for this is most email filters won't block mail coming from the same address.

I ended up changing the from address to no-reply@sitename.com so even if they tried to spoof it and spam me it wouldn't go anywhere. I never really created an no-reply account in Cpanel so they were wasting their time.

 Oh, well that's really good news.. so we know your server hasn't be compromised. This means someone is either spoofing the from address or they have your admin password and are using the mass mailer.

I would start out by changing the admin password.

Then look at the from IP address in the email header and see if it's your server ip...

Just out curiosity what version of Dolphin are you using?

Oh yes the strange thing to is that if it's true the mail it should have marked at least a report that it was sending the mails and i don't received that report.
